Wesley Church Perth, was the scene of a pretty wedding on September 14, when Winifred only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Buzza, was married to Stanley, second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. T. R. Byass, of Claremont. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her father, made a charming picture in her bridal gown of white georgette and taffeta, with touches of silver. Her veil of tulle and silver lace, which was held in place with a wreath of orange blossom, fell in graceful folds to form a train. Her bouquet was of roses and snowdrops with silver streamers. The bridesmaids, Misses Doris Cooke and Lorna Byass, were attired alike in georgette frocks of a daffodil shade with tulle hats to correspond, and carried bouquets of daffodils. The duties of best man and groomsman were carried out by Messrs. Byass and James Dukes. The Rev. D. Dundas officiated at the ceremony and acted as chairman at the wedding breakfast. The reception was held at the rooms of the Women's Service Guild. Mrs. Buzza receiving her guests in a becoming frock of fawn crape suede and hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of real roses. Mrs. Byass wore beige crepe de chine and close fitting hat with floral crown and carried a bouquet of carnations. Mrs. Cavanagh (grandmother of the bridegroom) wore lime crepe de chine with hat to match and carried a bouquet of sweet peas. The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue ensemble with red hat.

The late Mr Newbey arrived in Albany from Victoria in 1897 and, together with his brother Alf, worked for Millar & Co. clearing the Torbay-Denmark line. He later surveyed the line from Hay River to Denmark and carried out quite an amount of surveying in and around Denmark itself. When milling commenced in the area he stayed for two years as the first engine driver, working on the first steam engine in the first timber mill in Denmark.
Mr Newbey then returned to Victoria but returned after eight years to settle in the Broomehill district, taking up the property "Kerang Vale" east of the townsite just over 40 years ago. Mr Newbey raised his large family on "Kerang Vale" and a few years ago retired to live in the townsite where he remained until his death. He leaves his wife and family to mourn his passing.
