What is a One Name Study?
It is a project researching all occurrences of a surname, as opposed to a particular pedigree (ancestors of one person) or descendancy (descendants of one person or couple).
When you register to become a one Name study you must agree to collect all references to your registered surname. This study must be world wide and not restricted to an area or family. You must also agree to deal with all reply-paid enquiries relating
to your registered surname.
As part of our indexing project we have started to index various databases. As we both live in Western Australia we have started with mainly Australian indexes. All occurrences of the Harcourt Surname are placed in our database and the source of the information is noted.
Any researcher who provides us with information is acknowledged. If anyone undertakes a particular indexing project eg. Cemetery index they will also be acknowledged.
We will provide information from our indexes free of charge to any Harcourt researchers.
We would love to hear from anyone who can provide us with any information on the Harcourt surname that we can add to our database.
