The TAFE Recordings
Back on September 24 2010 many of us from the Ukastle Ukestra
descended on TAFE in Tighes Hill and gave the Music Industry
Skills students an uncommon experience - recording an unruly
lot such as ourselves.
Here are the results!
- Catch my disease - perhaps
our favourite contemporary song, featuring Christine on
Bohdran and Jane on lead vocals. (by Ben Lee).
- Runaround Sue - excuse
me?!!! But do I hear Robin swearing at the end? (by Ernie
Maresca and Dion DiMucci)
- Aloha Week Hula - Dennis
& Paula brought this one back from Hawaii for us. (Jack
Pitman)
- Deep in the Heart of Texas -
for a ukestra this is an ideal beginners song. It is two
chords with big breaks between chord changes. However, as
you can hear, two chords and a good song also allows one to
have a lot of fun! This would be a perfect recording if not
for that one stray sheep. (Swander & Hershey)
- Let's talk dirty in Hawaiian
- we are going to Hawaii in July 2011, so we are learning
the lingo - a song by John Prine.
