Who we are…. |

This family run business is owned by Jack Thomason.
Jack became interested in radio at an early age and obtained his
Amateur Operators Licence at the age of 18. He worked in
commercial radio in Melbourne from 1951 to 1967.
A part-time business was established in 1956 when Television
arrived in Australia. Television repairs were carried out under the
name of Briar Hill TV Service, located in Greensborough. A number
of Television Sets were also produced under the name “SUPATRON”.
The family moved to the Gold Coast in 1967 where Jack set up the
Gold Coast’s first commercial radio station, 4GG.
Moving to Sydney in 1968, CROMER ELECTRONICS was
established to service and install Public Address and Sound Systems.
Over the years the business developed and grew into the Design,
Consulting and Manufacture of Audio and Electronic Control
Equipment with clients such as Westfield, Aldi, Bunnings and KFC etc.
In 2009 the business was sold to Tecsound (NSW) Pty Ltd.
Moving to Mona Vale in 2009 it was decided to open a business in the
Audio-Video field trading under the name, Dee Why Electronics.
In 2017 the trading name was changed to Northern Beaches Audio-Video Services
to more accurately indicate our services.
What We Do…
Northern Beaches Audio-Video Services offer a wide range of
Audio-Video Processing, including duplication and format transfer..
Converting those old movies (8mm etc.) or tapes, (VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV, Video8
to DVD, USB or Memory Card etc. and including background music.
Commentary and captions where required is one of our specialities.
We can transfer your old 78’s or LP vinyl records to CD or cassette.
We also convert 35mm slides or photographs to disc for slide-show TV viewing.
Photo printing services, video editing and photo ‘touch-ups’ are also carried out.
