| I think it is one of the most important tip I'm going to give you. It is really the secret of scoring points in any martial arts competition. Listen to what I have to say and try to understand. Because if you can do this you will win the next competition. | |
| The way you think and your attitude going into a tournament is super important. A lot of people and many instructors have a great deal of different ideas on how to psych yourself up. I think it's a very individual thing, but he is my view on what I think you should be doing. | |
| Understanding the fight and controlling a fight is paramount if you want to do well in any competition. Knowing when and how to attack is also equally important, I explain a lot more on this. | |
| The winning attitude is so important, but what is a winning attitude?and why shouldn't I throw the towel in, after all it's only a competition. | |
| Tip 6, Don’t go backwards | There are many things that go on doing a fight. Some we realise were doing something we don't realise we doing. Is moving backwards one of the things that you do regularly in the fight? Were listen to this and tell you why, that's not a great idea. |
| Tip 7, Have a good guard | Having a good guard is pretty obvious, but as many students progress they seem to want to look cool and forget or not they guard on purpose. Here are some good points and bad points about having a good guard. |
| Tip 8, Distancing | Distancing is a huge subject. Complete seminars have done just on just this subject alone, is a bit of an overview and some pointers. |
| Tip 9. Closing the gap | This goes hand in hand with distancing, you must learn to close the gap if you want to score, listen to find out more. |
| Tip 10, Only do what is necessary | Any one that likes to show off or is a bit unfit should listen to this, it may well get you out of trouble. |
| Tip 11, Hide your techniques | Telegraphing what you are about to do is a common problem, here are some ideas ho to fix it |
| Tip 12, Examine your last fight | Learning from your last fight, Even If you loose you still can win by learning from your last fight. |
| Tip 13, Set your posture for speed | How you can set up your fighting stance to get faster and better movement. this is something that many fighters either haven't learnt properly or have forgotten how to do it. |
