Holy Water
Holy water is used for a variety of magickal workings, including cleansing a room to help healing etc... Most witches make this formula and save it in beautifully decorated bottles. Plastic isn't really great because it's not really pure.
Formula for Holy Water:
- 1 teaspoon of Rose Water (optional)
- 1 small bowl of spring water (read bottles carefully! People do try to cheat)
- 1 new compact mirror
- 1 storage bottle, not too big
- 3 tablespoons of sea salt or Kosher Salt.
Cleanse and sterilize the bowl and glass container with boiling water. Make sure no one is going to walk in while you are in the middle of making your Holy Water! Midnight on a Full Moon Phase is the right time. Preferably outdoors under the moon but otherwise near a window where the moon is visible.
Set your work cloth down with all the ingredients on it. Take 6 deep breaths to relax yourself. Cast your magick circle, hold arms out at the sides like you are cradling the Universe palms up. Say:
In the cloak of the midnight hour
I call upon the Ancient Power
I seek the presence of the Lady and Lord
To bless this water that I will pour.Feel the energy of Earth Mother and Sky Father move about you, feel your own energy expand. Add the rose water to the spring water then pick up the bowl of water, hold it towards the light of the moon and say:
In my hands I hold the essence of the Gods. I hereby cleanse and consecrate this water to Divinity that it may be used for positive acts only and may aid me in my magickal work.
Imagine silver light descending from the heavens and impregnating both the water and you. Glowy sensations usually occur.
Put the water down and pick up the salt. Raise the salt towards the moon and say:In my hands I hold the essence or Earth Mother, She whose bounty sustains all living creatures. I hereby consecrate this salt to Divinity that it may be used for positive acts only and may aid me in my magickal work.
Imagine the energy of the Moon Goddess empowering the salt.
Put the salt down and pour a little into the bowl of water. Stir clockwise three times and repeat this process twice more.
With the bowl in your left hand and the birror in your right, reflect the light of the moon of the mirror and into the bowl. After a few moments say:
This liquid is now pure and dedicated to the Lord and Lady. It is free from all negativity in any time and any space.
Set the mirror and bowl down and hold both hands (palms down) over the bowl without touching it. Form an open triangle with your hands over the water, imagine a purple light and project it throught the triangle into the water. When you feel the energy begin to dissipate, slowly lower your hands and say:
As I will
So mote it be
With the free will of all
And harm to none
This formula is done!You can 'ground' your energy in 2 ways. One is to place your hands physically on the ground and feel the energy drain into Earth Mother. Two is to imagine your energy as a force field around you and quietly step out of it and watch the energy collapse in upon itself and melt into the ground.
Transfer the now Holy Water to the storage container and put it away till you need it again. Be sure to clean up everything afterwards and close your circle.
Write everything in your book of shadows, how you did it, what you did, what happened EVERYTHING!
