Written Work
Journals are important, especially in the craft. You want to know what you've done etc... If you do a spell and a certain thing happened write it down so you know for next time.
Goals are important too. Write your goals down in your journal. What do you want to achieve, and write by when you want to have achieved those goals.
If one goal is to be a better witch by the end that this year has passed, then write that, and after the year is over you go back, read it and write if you have completed that goal.
Goals are important because you want to have something your aiming for, something to keep you going.
Dream Journals
Dreams are strange things and suprise me every time. Dreams are full of messages or futuristic things, past things, even images from a past life maybe?
Dreams are where your subconsciencness sorts out the events of the day or of a problem which you've been pondering about. They are where you astrally project yourself into another plane or dimension. Sometimes you are there for a purpose to see something or hear something, other times it's just fun. If you dream about yourself in the future, somewhere along those lines maybe that means you have to do something in order to stop that from happening. Past life visions happen too, where you are someone else but you feel so right, so close, that could be you in your past life. Some people carry phobias because of what happened in a past life.
This is going to sound strange but I'm scared of cars. If I'm walking down the side of the road and a car comes up behind to pass (obviously since it's a road!) I always get scared, I always think it's going to hit me and I'm going to end up in a lot of pain. It used to scare me every time. Even now when I walk down the road and a car is coming up I have to tell myself it's NOT GOING TO HIT ME! One night I had a dream, I wasn't me, I was someone else but it felt like it was me. I was walking along the side of the road and I got smashed into by a car. It was a hit and run thing, I was laying in the bushes by the side of the road dying and no one could see me.
That dream scared me, A LOT, but I realized it must have been from my past life, and I just kept a phobia from it. You know the usual phobias, Claustrobhobia etc... they could be from past life experiences, well they most likely are!Back to dreams! When I wake up from a dream I always write them down, because several weeks later I like to look over them. Sometimes dreams actually came true, usually the relatively normal ones (which is great!). Sometimes weird dreams can kind of scare us. I don't really look at the dream things, more at the story. If you dream about a blue tiger, don't think of it as a blue tiger and how weird it is, think of it as the colour blue, and a tiger or a cat type or maybe even a meat eating animal.
Dreams are always important no matter what. Keeping a dream journal next to your bed is a good idea, don't store it away to far since dreams have a tendency to slip out of the mind! One minute you know every detail of it, the next minute you only know the general story.
A Book of Shadows
All witches should have a book of shadows. Usually covens have a huge book of shadows between them as well as their own personal one.
