Mr Jim Richards teaches Management Accounting and Accounting Information Systems. Prior to joining Murdoch University in 1987 he held academic appointments at The University of Western Australia and the Western Australian College of Advanced Education (now Edith Cowan University). Mr Richards has also had commercial experience with Mt Newman
Mining Company and Alcoa of Australia. His research interests relate to accounting education and XBRL.

Mr Richards is also involved in consulting work, mainly in the area of Accounting Information Systems.
