The Pteranodon's ("winged and toothless") wings spanned 23 feet, but they supported a body no larger than a goose. Its great blade-shaped beak was balanced by a huge bony crest extending 2 feet to the rear of its head. Flying speeds are estimated at 15 to 20 miles per hour with a gliding speed of around 25 miles per hour.

Pteranodon Notes
You'll notice the biography for Pteranodon says its name means 'winged and toothless'. Now take a look at the box art. Looks pretty toothy to me!

The Real Pteranodon
Pteranodon is one of the best-known of all the flying reptiles called pterodactyls. It lived about 80 million years ago in North America. When Pteranodon spread its wings it would have been 8 metres wide. It had no teeth, but its jaws may have been covered with a horny beak. The long crest at the back of the skull helped to balance its head.
