Wednesday Div 3 (1999)

At the start of this, our first season of mens indoor cricket, we wern't really sure what we were doing, but by watching some of the division one games we got the jist of how the game was meant to be played and improved as the season progressed. We played lots of different teams this season - too many to keep track of. We regularly played and beat the Leppers while a team called the Hacks often got the better of us. The season finished with the Hacks on top of the ladder closely followed by us in second and the Leppers in third.

We defeated the Hacks in the second semi-final and with the Leppers' suprise victory in the preliminary final they became our grand final opponents. We won the toss against them and elected to bat first. Batting cleverly we looked to be cruising with 62 on the board after 3 pairs, but distater struck as Vin #23 and Jeffro #69 wilted under the Leppers pressure to make -16 to see our team total finish on 46. The first pair for the Leppers scraped together about a dozen runs before we turned it on, keeping their team to just 15 runs and winning our first grand final. Player of the grand final went to Julian Russell from the Leppers.
