A couple of studies of the Phantom's mount, Hero.

Hero is no ordinary horse. Muscled like a warhorse, but capable of running faster than any racehorse even with 200 pounds of Phantom on his back. The Art of Animal Drawing by Ken Hultgren, published by Dover, is highly recommended to anyone who wants to know how to fill out a jungle scene with horses, and/or more appropriate wildlife. ;-) I've noticed a few panels drawn by long time Lee Falk artist, Sy Barry, which owe much to this book. I guarantee he has it on his bookshelf. You should too.
