Panel 3 (enclosed panel): An arrow strikes the centre of a target. "Bullseye! Bullseye!!"

Panel 5 (enclosed panel): Diana shakes her finger at Heloise smiling. "Heloise. It was a very good shot, but you shouldn't gloat. There is such a thing as a bad winner."
Panel 6 (enclosed panel): Kit draws an arrow from his quiver. "Aww... she's just jealous that I beat her in our swim across the river yesterday."
Panel 7 (enclosed panel): Kit takes aim. "Besides, if I hit her arrow it's a tie, and we both ride Hero."
Page 6:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Phantom arrives next to Diana and puts his arm around her shoulders. "I don't see why you can’t both ride him anyway? You two are growing fast but I don’t think you would break his back!"
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Heloise rolls her eyes. "Daddy... Where's the fun in that?"
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): Heloise smiles. "Besides, Robin Hood over there is never going to make this shot." Phantom and Diana, visible in background look mildly disapproving.

Page 8:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Hero wheels about. "I am NOT carrying you", says Heloise.
Panel 2 (wide panel): View of Phantom on Hero galloping, mid torso up. "Unusual message. Not like Wambesi to show any weakness in a way all the tribes can hear. I wonder what the problem is," thinks Phantom.

Panel 3 (enclosed panel): Rear view of Hero galloping. "Which means someone did it for him," thinks Phantom.
Panel 4 (wide panel): Phantom in trench-coat, hat and glasses. Toma holds Hero's reins. "Take good care of him while I’m in town Toma. I don’t know how long I will be," says Phantom. "Of course O Ghost Who Walks," says Toma.
Panel 5 (splash panel): [There are times when the Phantom leaves the jungle and walks the streets as an ordinary man] Phantom walks down a quiet street into the outskirts of Mawitaan.
Page 13:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Phantom enters busier section of town. "The silk markets near the docks would be a logical place to start searching," thinks Phantom.
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom looks towards an old man holding out a cup. "It seems the economy of Mawitaan is not as healthy as the last time I visited," thinks Phantom.
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): Phantom drops a few coins in the cup. "My thanks, kind sir," says the old man.
Panel 4 (wide panel): [The Mawitaan dockside markets. A place where anything can be bought for a price.] Panoramic view of the busy market with the docks in the background. The tiny figure of the Phantom thinks "Now to find the silk merchant."

Panel 4 (enclosed panel): View over Phantom's shoulder towards merchant. "I am looking for someone who was here several weeks ago. A girl, Ga'aana of the Wambesi tribe. She would have been wearing a broad gold band around her neck."

Page 15:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Phantom hands merchant some money. "I won't be buying anything today. But if you remember anything let me know. I'll be at the Sea Breeze tavern."
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom walks back through the market. "Well there's one dead end..." he thinks.
Panel 3 (wide panel): Phantom walks back past the old man he met before. "My friend..." says the old man.
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Shot of old man. "It's getting dark! Best not to be on the street. The eyes! They SEE you!"

Page 17:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Barman rolls his eyes as he pours a glass of milk. "Here we go again..."
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): The drunk next to the Phantom snaps his head around in shock. "Milk? What kinda jungle man are you? Milk's for babies..."
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): Drunk points to a young native whose wide eyes are looking over the rim of a glass of milk he is drinking. "See?" says the drunk.
Panel 4 (Wide panel): Bar crowd behind Phantom laughs as Phantom drinks his milk.

Page 18:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Big guy puts his hand on Phantom’s shoulder, looking angry. "Hey! I’m talking to you baby! You’re embarrassing me in front of the tourist!"
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom headbuts big guy from the side, without spilling his milk.
Panel 3 (open panel): View from above. Big guy is down and out, everyone looking down at him . Phantom is still sitting on his stool as if nothing happened drinking his milk. "Holy toilet water!" says tourist.
Panel 4: (enclosed panel): Barkeep looks at Phantom. "I've seen Momba there fight five men and win, and you drop him like that? Who are you?" "Bruce Lee?" says tourist out of view.
Panel 5: (enclosed panel): View looking up over Phantom's glass to his face. Skull ring purposely visible on the hand holding the glass. "Didn't seem right to mark him just for getting drunk," says Phantom.
Page 19:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Barkeep looks at Phantom wide eyed. "I know you, O Ghost who Walks."
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom speaks. "I am looking for two friends of mine who were in town several weeks ago. A girl, Ga'aana and a man, Mobaasa."
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): "They both belong to high families of the Wambesi. They would have had broad gold bands around their necks. Have you seen them?"
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Barkeep still looks like he's seen a 'ghost'. "I remember Mobaasa. He mistook an old scar of mine for a Wambesi warrior's mark. He was asking about the girl."
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): "I could not help him. He had a few drinks and spoke of her as his love. I felt sorry for him and offered a room, but he left into the night saying he had to find her."
Panel 6 (enclosed panel): Phantom speaks. "I'm glad to here that. At least I know I am on the right track."
Page 20:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Drunk next to Phantom gets up. "Heck, I gotta find my love too! Ethyl! Where are you Ethyl?"
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom and Barkeep watch him depart. "Was Mobaasa drunk when he left?"
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): Barkeep speaks. "Not as badly as that. But he was 'comfortably numb', as they say." Big guy is being helped to his feet in the background.
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Phantom rises to his feet. "Last question. Have you heard of anyone else going missing lately?"
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): Barkeep speaks. "The newspaper had a story last week about two 'derelicts' disappearing off the street. Is this what you mean?"
Panel 6 (enclosed panel): Phantom shakes barkeep's hand. "Perhaps. Thankyou for your help." "My pleasure, O Phantom."
Page 21:
Panel 1 (wide panel): Phantom walks down the darkening street, collar pulled up. "Something strange is going on around here," he thinks.
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom's head whips around. "Help! Help me!" out of view.
Panel 3 (splash panel): Four men in balaclavas are trying to drag the drunk tourist who left the bar into the back of a truck, 'ICU' on its side. "Help me! Ethyl!"
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Phantom runs towards them, taking coat off as he runs. "No time for niceties…"
Page 22:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Phantom's fist contacting with jaw of one of the mysterious attackers. CRACK!
Panel 2 (open panel): Two of the attackers turn to see him as Phantom shoots a crowbar out of another one's hand. "Hey!" shouts one of them. "Mister Lee! Thank God it's you!" says drunk.
Panel 3 (wide panel): Phantom launches into the attacker who shouted. Two more men get out of the truck behind him, one has another crowbar, the other has a baseball bat.
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Phantom is hit by bat from behind. "Ugh!"
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): The men with the bat and the crowbar beat the Phantom who is on the ground out of view.
Page 23:
Panel 1 (splash panel): Phantom is unconscious on the ground. Three of the hoods stand around him, one holding the drunk by the scruff of the neck. Another is looking at one of his fallen companions. "You guys aren’t supposed to beat Bruce Lee..." says drunk.
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): One of the attackers looks at the face of one of the fallen. Sees the Phantom's mark. "What this thing on his face?"
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): The man with the bat speaks. "It doesn't matter. Get them all into the truck. Someone will have heard all that."
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): "What about this purple weirdo?" Two of the men struggle to lift the Phantom. "He weighs a ton!"
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): "Something tells me we were lucky with that one, but his engine obviously works so it would be a waste to leave him behind," says guy with bat.
Page 24:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): "Break his arm, cuff him and put him in the truck. Let's move!"
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): One of the men stretches the Phantoms left arm out while the other raises the crowbar.
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): The drunk looks wide-eyed towards the Phantom as he is pushed into the back of the truck. CRACK is 'heard' out of view. "Where are you taking us?"
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Drunk is pushed the rest of the way roughly. "No questions! Move it boys!"
Panel 5 (wide panel): Truck drives of into the dark, past old man Phantom spoke to earlier, huddle in the shadows.
Page 25:

Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom's point of view. Girl huddled up with her knees to her chin looks at him. "You OK Mister?"
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): Phantom's hands are still handcuffed behind him. He tries to sit up. "Nnnn... I think… they dislocated my shoulder."
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Phantom sits back against wall in obvious discomfort. "What is this palce?"
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): Girls eyes look over her knees. "I don't really know. I’ve been in here for ages. Why are you wearing a mask?"
Panel 6 (enclosed panel): Phantom half grins. "It's a long story. My name's Chris, what's yours?"
Page 26:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Girl still speaks from behind her knees. "Andy."
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): "Pleased to meet you Andy. Can you guess how long you've been here?"
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): Girl lowers her knees. "I dunno. More than a month anyway. Does your arm hurt?"
Panel 4 (wide panel): Two men burst into the room, one wearing a baseball cap and carrying a 'taser', the other wearing a white coat and carrying a syringe. "Sample time, masked man. Don't do anything stupid."
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): Man in white coat takes a blood sample from Phantom's right arm. "What's with the mask anyway, Bob?"
Page 27:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): 'Bob' leans casually against the door frame. "Don't really know. Mogoo nearly lost it when we tried to take it off. He said 'He who sees the eyes of the Phantom will surely die'".
Panel 2 (enclosed panel): Phantom looks up at man in doorway. "What is all this? What do you want?" Phantom speaks in icy voice.
Panel 3 (enclosed panel): "Ah, it speaks!" says Bob. "Well purple man, we're taking a blood sample to see if you're as healthy as you look. That's all."
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Man in white coat gets up, holding full syringe. "Got it."
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): Phantom knocks him over and lunges for the door. "Where are Mobaasa and Ga'aana?" he shouts.
Panel 6 (enclosed panel): Bob aims taser. "Nap time, purple man."
Panel 7 (enclosed panel): ZAP!
Page 28:
Panel 1 (enclosed panel): Small fingers are trying to pull the taser 'staple' out of the Phantom's chest.
Panel 2 (wide panel): Andy is crouched over the Phantom. She looks proudly at the staple she has just removed. "Got you."
Panel 3 (same view): "Thankyou Andy." "Ahh!" she jumps.
Panel 4 (enclosed panel): Andy frowns at Phantom. "Don't do that! Anyway... do you get enough sleep at home? You seem to like getting knocked out."
Panel 5 (enclosed panel): Phantom moves back against wall, and winces at his shoulder. "You're a funny girl, Andy."
