Community Rally
Save our Swan Valley Nyungah Community
Held on Sunday 25th May 2003 12pm

The Socialist Party were given permission to organise this rally by the Nyungah people such is the trust in our party.
What a difference to the new bosses party - the ALP who have acted worse than the Liberals by proposing to smash this community.

Lies, lies and lies. The Nyungah people have been vilified in the bosses media. Claims of rape, abuse of children and women have been splashed across the media with a frequency that is a travesty of the truth. In the past 30 years there have been four such cases, this is no more than would take place in any communtiy. The Labor Party has gone along with this racist and continuation of the "White Australia Policy". What a disgrace after the stolen generation, stolen land, deaths in custody and brutal treatment of Aboriginal people the Labor Party led by Gallop are continuing this most brutal policy.

Neil Gray of the Socialist Party introduces speakers during the rally. Neil has worked with the Nyungah people for almost a decade. Neil makes the point that the bosses media and the new Bosses party the ALP are enemies of working people and the Aboriginal people of Australia.
Neil introduces Robert Bropho, vilified in the press and by the ALP as a cult leader. Robert is without question one of the best, most militant and principled leaders of Aboriginals in Australia. He has fought tirelessly for the rights of the Nyungah people. What an example of how to fight to defend the rights of the oppressed.

Robert calls for an international inquiry to reveal the truth of the Swan Valley NyungahCommunity. Provide the evidence! The Labor Party want to close the community because they know such an enquiry will prove Robert correct. A recent ALP sponsored Gorden report critisises not the Nyungah people but the Government themselves.

The women, who were supposed to be under constant abuse, speak out against these lies. They argue over and over this is totally untrue and they should be allowed to live in their own community.

Lies and lies. Many Nyungah women speak out against the close of their community.

Comrade Joel Cooke of the Socialist Party addresses the media and the Rally. Because of the criminal acts by the Labor Party against the whole community and the Nyungah people, Joel will stand against the sitting Labor MP in the next elections. At 18 he will be the youngest candidate in WA history.

The media hear the truth but the reporting on all the major TV and radio stations do not report the truth. We will rely on the strength of the working class, its organizations to get the truth out.
