The primary purpose of a security survey is to identify risk and security weaknesses in a company and make recommendations to reduce exposure to the risk in a cost effective manner.

Most companies will have almost certainly at some time faced problems resulting from employee theft, burglary, robbery, shop stealing, vandalism, sabotage, to unusual equipment failure, excessive energy consumption, employee time wasting and so on.

John Horton and Associates have conducted security surveys on behalf of a wide variety of enterprises ranging from diamond producers in Zimbabwe, to W.A Government Agencies and Private Corporation Headquarters, Insurance Companies and mid-sized manufacturing plants to small warehousing structures and transport terminals.

A Security Survey may range from a simple "walk through" Survey of an apartment or dwelling to identify the risk of intrusion or burglary, to a comprehensive and detailed survey of a corporate headquarters having the need to protect critical proprietary information and costly assets.

While the safety of employees and visitors and the protection of assets are usually the paramount priorities of any Security Survey, the greatest benefit achieved by clients is limiting exposure to liability litigation.

Security surveys generally provide an excellent return on investment. While the survey will not usually result in the dramatic effect, which accompanies a criminal apprehension, often-measurable results are visible almost immediately.

And while the detection and apprehension of a criminal who has targeted or stolen from your organisation can be gratifying, it is more cost effective to prevent, or minimize the opportunity for theft or subterfuge in the first place.

At the completion of the survey a comprehensive report is provided detailing the work performed and the results of the survey.
