last night condemned the baths as cruel and painful.
INSIGHT has learned registered nursing staff refused to carry out the bath, but unregistered staff did so under threat of dismissal.
The kerosene was bought from a service station close to the home.
Federal Minister for Aged Care Bronwyn Bishop confirmed details of the bizarre treatment last night.
She said sanctions had been imposed on the nursing home – including revocation of its aged care provider status unless and independent administrator was appointed.
