Toy Run - Latrobe Valley 2002

Common sense has finally come home to roost. Instead of each club having their own ride, the clubs have decided to 'get together' and have a 'combined' Toy Run. Now that's smart thinking eh?

We started at Traralgon opposite the RACV and rode to Moe via Morwell. The police did a great job controlling the traffic at intersections to let us through. Mind you, they were a bit under resourced and seemed to take great delight in racing from one intersection, past us at a great rate of knots to reach the next intersection to let us through. I thought riding through the CBD of Morwell was a bit of a risk, but I was wrong, very smooth.

We arrived at the Moe Race course and parked our bikes. At last count 280 bikes made the trip. We made use of our coupons (given to us at Traralgon) to have snags or hamburgers for lunch.

I didn't bring a toy as I thought money would be more useful for the Salvation Army. I was a little concerned when I went to make my donation. I approached a man in a Salvation Army uniform to make my donation. I ws directed to a lady wearing a similar uniform. Pity this lady was blind. The lady next to her agreeably pocketed my money. I wasn't 100% sure she was with the Salvation Army as she was out of uniform. She assured me she was with the Salvation Army. Ok, good enough for me. Hope it's good enough for my accountant!
