Speedometer Repaired
The very next day after the tour I rode to Southbank Motorcycles for them to get the speedometer working. As it turns out the problem was a broken wire between the handle bars and the body of the motorbike. Great, a complete bike again.
Stopped at Nar Nar Goon for petrol and noticed that the brake light had failed. Bought a pair of bulbs from the service station and tried to fit it. There's no way that bulb was going into that socket, the diameter of the metal base was larger than the socket diameter. GRRR! Fished out the Kngs Canyon utility knife and filed down the metal base until it would fit.
Rode the rest of the way home feeling less happier. After arriving home I decided to check the taillight, just to see if everything was in good condition. I should have done that the next day as I would have slept better. I found that the left hand rear indicator was wobbly and the main body of the taillight was loose at the top left. Out with gaffa tape.
