Battery Failed

Made the trip to Southbank Motorcycles (SBM) and had the battery replaced. It all started on Saturday after I had riden to Morwell and back home. I done a bit of work and then went to ride to the weekly Ulysses meeting and couldn't start the engine. It sounded like the starter motor gears weren't meshing. I drove the car to the Ulysses meeting and asked the Oracles there if they had any ideas. The consensus was that I had a faulty battery. Great! Drove home and charged the battery and after a few hours I was able to start the bike. I tried the same thing on Sunday with no success.

I rang SBM and they told me that they had to do the work to keep the bike warranty intact. Great, now how do I start the bike? I charged the battery for 4 hours with no success, so, in desperation, I jump started the bike from the car battery and drove to SBM. Fortunately they were able to find the time to replace the battery.

Sam in spare parts thought a battery should go for 5 years. Well, 9 months is what it lasted me.

It's a real pity there's no local BMW dealer.
