Sad, Sad Year
This really doesn't have anything to do with the date of this article, but it needs to be said:
This is the last year that the BMW Cruiser range of motorcycles will be manufactured!
BMW in their wisdom, have decided to axe the complete range.
The last time I was having the bike serviced, I spent the time to sit on just about every bike in the showroom. The result? Rather simple reallly: The next bike won't be a BMW! There is no other equivalent bike in the remaining range of models. I don't like any of them.
Sure the trend is to transplant medium size car engines into the cruiser range, but that's just plain silly! Why would you want a 3 litre engine in a cruiser! Sounds like a drag bike! Given that, I can see why BMW dropped out, but that makes it a sad, sad day.
I know BMW have to make a profit for their shareholders, but producing bikes that travel at 300 kph is rather misguided. Then again, I'm not a shareholder in BMW. I just appreciate a unique motorcycle, and. given BMW's decision, it will become more rare.
O.K., enough with the crying. I just needed to state my opinion.
Happy riding, whatever you ride.
