Clutch Slave Assembly
James (BM Motorcycles) called to tell me the clutch slave assembly had arrived, so we arranged for today to be the day to have the work done.
Left real early and arrived at Ringwood a little after 9:00. James had arranged for me to use a R 1200 R as a loan bike. That was good news as a had quite a few hours to try it out.
My other business for the day was to purchase the cheapest possible computer that could run Microsoft Vista. This necessitated me having to backtrack to Pakenham to the offices of CW Supplies. After about half an hour of talking options I purchased a suitable computer for $650. I asked them to send the computer to Morwell as I'm not carrying it back on the bike.
Back to the bike and quite a deal of fun. I decided that a trip up to Healesville and the Black Spur would be an entertaining way of killing some time. The bike worked well. Plenty of go and handles a lot better than the Crusier. Still not entirely happy with the posture though, tucking up your legs just isn't my idea of comfort. That said I had a great time and arrived back at BM Motorcycles a little later than planned. James told me he was wondering where I was. I said "Out having fun!"
The job went well with no problems and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Good!
As usual when I took off on my bike I just about put my feet on the pillion pegs. There's just so much room on my bike.
I rode into the city and stopped at Southbank and had a look around. I jad a chat with a fellow Ulyssian hailing from Western Australia. he's made the big trip for the AGM at Coffs Harbour via Tasmania. he just had a bit of trouble with his tyres as he had a side wind across the Nullabor and wore out one side of his tyres.
I checked out the boot and helmet situation as my gear is getting a bit tired. Looks like a bit over a thousand dollars sometime in the future.
Drove home and was still having trouble coming to grips with my bike. That R 1200 R has spoiled me a bit :)
