200,000 km

Well, I've finally reached another milestone in the history of the bike, reaching two hundred thousand kilometres.
A rather nice tradition of the BMW Motorcycle Club of Victoria is to hand out an award on the reaching of certain nominated distances, usually multiples of 100,000 km on the same bike. I've forwarded the paperwork, and now just have to wait until the club's gears to turn out a trophy.
I've slowed down on late and don't travel as far as I used to, so this milestone took quite a time to reach, however, I've arrived.
Barry Law, notified me that the award was ready and would I be able to travel down to Kew for the monthly meeting to collect it. I of course replied "Yes!". Now this sort of response takes a bit of planning, as the event usually falls on the last Monday of the month. Convenient for those in the city, but not so for those from the Country, there is this distance separating us. It's just not around the corner.
Arrived for the meeting and chatted with members as they happened along and finally sat down for the meeting. The meeting had nearly finished and was about to be wound up and I was starting to feel a little annoyed. I'd made to effort to attend, so where's this award. With gavel heading towards the desk and members getting up to devour the light supper, the President announced there was one more item of business and directed members to sit down again. They did, but they weren't happy. The last item of business was my award. I was duly called down and presented with the award. Ian took my picture and I rambled on a bit about some of my travels.
Glad I made the effort and even more glad I was able to take it home with me.
Now for the next one!
