A lesson learnt and the Melbourne Motorcycle Expo
Rode to the Motorcycle Expo in Melbourne
and had a wonderful learning experience coming into Narre Warren. I was in the
left lane and wanted to move into the centre lane. A motorist in the right hand
lane decided that he was in the wrong lane as he wanted to turn left at the
next intersection. So here I find myself coping with a car moving into the 'clear
space' that was there a few moments ago. I slowed down/moved over as safely
as I could as it had just rained and the road was wet and ended up riding the
lane boundary between two cars. It could be argued that I was a little stressed.
I'm very fortunate that I didn't panic and do something silly, needless to say
I rode very carefully from then on.
I was rather disappointed with the Expo, I guess I had a different vision in
mind. No Honda's!!! I was off to a bad start. Hardly any accessories like helmets,
visors, racks and the like. I really wanted to track down a slightly more comfortable
seat for my bike, no sign of them either. I did better when I went to Peter
Steven's after the Expo.
