The DC-3 was definitely one of the most famous transport aircraft of aviation history thanks to its reliability, flexibility & service life. During WW2 it was developed into a dedicated military version; the C-47 Skytrain.
Produced in large numbers, it was used extensively by allies on all fronts. In particular, the C-47's received by RAF & Commonwealth Air forces took the name "Dokata" & they were used for logistics, tactical transport, launch of paratroopers & medical evacuation.
