The me262a1a-u4 was the Bomber destroyer version, two prototypes were built. For it'snose mounted 50mm cannon, the Mauser MK214a was selected after competing with the Rheinmetall-Borsig BK5.
The first prototype (V899) mounted with the MK214A V2 made it's first flight late in February 1945 On April 5 1945, Maj Herget made 2 actual combat tests on aircraft V899. Then the improved MK214 V3 was mounted on the second prototype V083, but there is no record that this aircraft made any test flight.
