This site has come about as a direct result of the 'Final' WA Pagan Alliance Annual General Meeting that was held on the 6th March 2004. The minutes of the meeting can be found here.

The short version of events is that it was felt that the general pagan community did not want to support an active political body such as the Pagan Alliance. It was also felt that being under the umbrella of the national body was not really providing any real tangible benefits for members here in WA. However the local Pagan Alliance branch has been successful in providing information to people who are seeking others or groups/covens or even just events that are happening within the community. It was this that we all want to see continue and hence the WA Pagan Network is born.

I have agreed to be the 'co-ordinator' or 'facilitator' or just general 'mug' to run with this to start with and get the ball rolling so here it is.

At the moment it is very bare and I ask that everyone help with providing information as without YOUR help the idea is never going to work. What sort of information you may well ask. Well, the point of the WA Pagan Network is to be a collection and contact point for anyone that wants to be involved. That is we want to provide a service that advertises to other pagans out there in Western Australia what is going on within the community. What events are happening, who is running outer-courts and general training. Also the other main reason for being is to help those out there that are seeking contacts for groups etc. The plan is to have a page with a bit of blurb about individual groups. This can have links off to other websites or general contact info. If you wish you may also provide me with your private contact details so they are not published on the web and if someone is interested in contacting you I will provide a 'go between' service and provide you with the seekers contact details. Please note that this will all be done in the strictest of confidence and details you do not wish to be published will remain private.

Before anyone starts jumping up and down and thinking that I am trying to be a takeover merchant or control freak keeping an evil eye on everything that's going on let me say something. This whole project has come about from the Pagan Alliance AGM. I was going to put my hand up for the State Co-ordinators position to keep it going for another year. I have no personal interest or private agenda in the creation of this network. It is here for the Pagan Community as a whole. It is about networking people who are isolated either by their beliefs or even their physical distance to others of like mind. I am not pushing or promoting any particular path or belief system. If you generally consider yourself a Pagan welcome aboard.

Please feel free to send me anything that you wish to have on the site. Apart from the contacts and events we will have a section for sharing. It can be an alternative for the old newsletter. Anything may be published but it will be at my discretion as I will not publish anything that I think someone else may find offensive. The aim here is to share and embrace each others differences rather than start flame wars or WW3.
