This site is maintained by Photographer and Painter John O'Keeffe, who has completed a Master of Visual and Performing Arts Degree on Stroke at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, N.S.W., Australia. The website is part of a project aimed at promoting the work of artists who have suffered a stroke and have returned to practice Art. My aim is to discuss the problems faced by stroke victims in returning to art; physical, emotional and stylistic problems. I welcome input from any stroke sufferers, or people and organisations associated with stroke. -------------------------------------

Please email me at jokeeffe@tassie.net.au with any information you wish to share or artwork you may wish to have published on this site. -------------------------------------

My work with artists returning to practice art came about after my Mother, an artist, suffered a massive stroke to the right hemisphere affecting her left hand side, the stroke was caused by an Atrial Myxoma (a tumor in the Heart), which was detected and removed 22 months later.
