Yes, you know he wrote My Island Home, but he also never fails to write songs of real tenderness when he sings of love rather than struggle. And this, with input from David Bridie (that man again) and the ethereal vocals of two-thirds of Tiddas conjure up a lilting, never overwrought eminently approachable tune. But when a song as good as Holy Road from his last album gets ignored you just keep wondering. Also includes one of those poems of his, not related to his famous ode to the flying ute, which shows his wit still intact. A sadly underrated talent.
