Browser and Screen Setup Information
In order to best view the photos on our site, you may need to adjust your computer's settings slightly. In doing do you may discover, as we did, entirely new features of your browser(s).
We have optimised the layout of the pages for viewing on a monitor with 800 x 600 pixel resolution.
If your monitor displays less than this, you will have no option but to scroll to view the photos, captions and navigation buttons.
If your monitor displays more than this, e.g. 1024 x 768 you should have no problems viewing the site but the photos will be a bit smaller on the screen.
A screen resolution of 800 x 600 will result in the maximum size for the photos, which are generally 640 x 480 pixels. However, at this setting, you will need to hide some toolbars in your browser to maximise the visible screen area. Suggested settings are as follows:
Netscape
We suggest you hide all three toolbars at the top of the screen, i.e. the Navigation, Location and Personal Toolbars, using Netscape's View menu. You can still do basic navigation by right clicking in the main window, in addition to the navigation buttons built into the site's pages. Also, if your Windows task bar is at the bottom of the screen, you can temporarily hide it by dragging it below the bottom of the screen or using the auto-hide property.
Internet Explorer
If you are using IE, you can select the Full Screen mode from the View menu which hides all menus except for a simplified toolbar at the top of the screen. You can even get rid of this toolbar by right-clicking on it and selecting Auto-Hide. A simple way to toggle between normal and full-screen modes it to use the F11 key.
Apologies in advance to Mac users if these shortcuts don't work exactly as described.
