Not withstanding the cold and clammy conditions and a few players coming down with flu, we managed to win more fights as a club and state than ever before.
Our medal charge was led by new 2009 national champions Jess Manson, Joshua Revell and Kieran Gordon. Allow me to brag a bit – WA as a state brought home 20 medals in total. Of these 16 were from Kano Judo Schools! All those hours of hard work finally paid off.
I wish to thank Fiona Iredale and Nick Morgan for their valued contribution in the preparation and coaching of our team; Ian Nailor for being a great manager and driver; Julie McDonald, Sam Revell and Sarie Knoester for all the extra help and Paul Iredale and Nick Revell for assisting with transport duties. Without you we would not have had the great success that we did.
Well done to all of you!
