I am quite chuffed - I ordered a moisturiser I'd never heard of from strawberrynet for around $35 (I get a 7.5% discount). I'd been using this sample pot of Nivea Q10 and my skin has been breaking out like a 14 year olds. Last week I had three massive lumps on my chin full of nothing. I was going to go and get Total Effects but I dont have any lines next to my eyes at the moment (probably from the Nivea) and it makes me break out after a month anyway. I think all those 'anti-ageing' moisturisers do, they cause your skin to renew a bit faster and bring you back a bit TOO fast! Plus since I'm taking fish oil I'm sure that doesn't help either. I thought I'd check out Strawberrynet, most high end moisturisers are stupidly expensive (i.e. only stupids pay that price) and found this one. So I thought why not, it sounds good, not too much of an outlay either. It arrived today and I'm so pleased with it. It doesn't sit on my skin like disgusting goo, in fact all it does is go on and then disappear and my skin feels like it's not there (i.e. not an oil well or a desert). This is exactly what I want in a moisturiser hehe. Then I found out in Australia it's $110.

$110 for 50mls of emulsion?!?!?!!?!?!?! Seriously - anything with anti ageing on it gets double in price. It's a nice bottle and all, and $38 for moisturiser is expensive to me and would still be expensive even if I had a nice big income. It's retarded. There is no amount of money you can spend on shit to put ON TOP of your skin that will make it better. If you want to repair your skin you have to get INSIDE it ffs. I cannot believe people are idiotic enough to believe that because they've spent $500 on their tub of La Mer, they are somehow turning back the clock simply because they spent more. Oh the sheer ignorance drives me insane. I understand about it being a status symbol too, unfortunately identity now is so wrapped up in designer products that it's almost impossible to prise the wrapping from the product. People can't give you a well researched and logical argument as to why their paid $200 for that product. They can only tell you that 'it must be better because it costs more". It's not like a $1000 tailored wool coat that is mostly handmade for your body using high quality materials. This shit is 100% factory produced and grown in big vats.

One girl on the vogue forum told me that her high end foundation made her feel worth it and luxurious. Does anyone else find it WEIRD?!!?!?!?!? That so many women out there derive self worth from expensive packaging and mass produced chemicals??!! That because they've spent a bit extra on themselves, they're not suddenly worthy?!!? That money in some way makes you worthy?! God it's so ugly and tacky and crass. I think the people who are so impressed by money and all that consumer bullshit ought to be stripped of their money and sent to live on a tacky bogan planet because that's all they are. You don't even see them worshipping the scientists who produced their products, just the fake, airbrushed face of the celebrity flogging it.
Women make me sad. So many of them are self obsessed, neurotic, insecure, and jealous of other women. For all their posturing about men keeping them down, they certainly didn't form bonds with each other. Nope. Instead they created and fell for marketing and replaced male domination with repression from their own kind.

Okay I dont know how being chuffed with my moisturiser became a big rant but it was nice to let that out :) I told my Mum about my assignment marks and she was so surprised. I forget that most people really aren't aware that you can do anything with some work. I didn't even know it myself until J told me. Thanks J it's like I've been let in on a big cosmic secret and now I feel superior ^_^

Now to just get that fucking test out of the way. The tutor wrote down another way to do stoichiometry equations but they're so clever and non-plodding (like mine) that they've scared me off a bit!!
