  • Integrated Tropical Coastal Zone Management Description: Integrated Tropical Coastal Zone Management (ITCZM) is a field of specialization at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) under the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) and the School of Civil Engineering (SCE). This interdisciplinary field aims to develop human resources for coastal zone management in the Asia and Pacific region. Coastal areas encompass a diverse array of resources and ecosystems with intense human activities. Scholarship for students from ASEAN countries, India and Bangladesh 100% scholarships are provided by DANIDA, the Danish government funding agency For students of EU countries 100% scholarships are provided though the PTS program, funded by the EU.   • Water Research Laboratory - Coastal Imaging Home Page (Gold Coast Artificial Reef) Description: An automated, four-camera coastal imaging system was installed in July 1999 at the Gold Coast (Australia), to monitor and quantify coastline changes that are occurring in response to the construction of the Gold Coast Artificial (Surfing) Reef, and sand nourishment of adjacent beaches. A full archive of all images is maintained, and is available for use by researchers, managers, students, or any interested organisation of individual (a suitable acknowledgment would be appreciated).     Description: The Institute of Estuarine and Coastal Studies (IECS) is a multi-disciplinary and consultancy organisation set up to utilise the facilities and expertise in coastal science and management within the University of Hull. IECS covers a wide range of specialisms within the coastal environment, ranging from the biological and physical environments (topography, vegetation, ornithology, benthic and pelagic fauna) to coastal planning, environmental quality, marine law and environmental impact assessment. The Institute works locally, on the Humber estuary and the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire coasts; nationally, for example Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland, Plymouth Sound and the Solway Firth, and elsewhere in Europe, for example in co-ordinating EU projects and working with other laboratories such as RIKZ and KEMA in the Netherlands and the Universities of Aveiro and Lisbon in Portugal.
