CZM has a core staff of four professionals covering a variety of disciplines, all with individual experience of between 8-25 years. The core team possesses a range of complementary skills, with individual staff working closely to support each other on projects. In addition, the company has a select group of affiliate consultants and experts who work on projects as required. CZM also maintains strategic links with other consultancy and research institutes throughout the world.
Dr Robert Kay is the principal Director of CZM (Australia) and has over 15 years experience in coastal zone management and planning and has worked at an executive management level. He has a background in ICZM, coastal geomorphology, oceanographic and coastal physical processes and environmental risk assessment. Dr Kay is also a lead quality assuror for the ISO 9000 Quality Management series and a senior project manager with extensive experience in large complex projects.
Carolyn Kay is Company Secretary CZM (Australia) and has over 15 years experience in information management, marketing, capacity building, ICT, communication, facilitation and community consultation. Before going into partnership with Dr. Kay she ran her own business for eight years servicing clients from industry and government. She has a degree in Library and Information Science and has studied communication at a post graduate level.
Ailbhe Travers is a coastal geomorphologist with over eight years experience in environmental studies focusing specifically on the coastal realm. She holds an honors degree in Environmental Science and has recently been awarded her PhD from the University of Western Australia. Her research here focused on the morphology and dynamics of sandy beach environments. In addition to her scientific training, Ailbhe has a background in communications.
David Green has extensive experience in the software development industry and has held a diverse range of roles including Application Developer, Business and Technical analyst, Team Leader, Line Manager and Project Manager. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Queensland has recently completed a Masters of Information Management at the University of Western Australia.
Through his role with CZM David is applying his strong IT and project management background to a wide range of coastal problems.
The company develops specialist teams quickly and effectively through the use of specialist subcontractors. These are either experts in their own right or as part of larger organisations.
