Garigal Landcare Group

This group aims to protect bushland on Crown land, private land and council reserves near to Garigal National Park. We are currently looking at areas close to Morgan Road and Deep Creek. The first priority is to prevent further damage to bushland by unauthorised four wheel drive vehicles, trail bikes and mountain bikes. We are closely associated with the Belrose Rural Community Association Inc, PO Box 401, Frenchs Forest, NSW 2086.

We have regular bush regeneration along the "Slippery Dip Track", Belrose each Wednesday from 5-7pm and aim to encourage further bush regeneration work and community education. In addition we will try to assist others in identifying native plants and problem weeds in this area.

Prospective volunteers should contact Dr Conny Harris on (02) 9451 3231 or 0432 643 295 or by E-mail at conny.harris@gmail.com. Garigal National Park staff can be contacted by telephone on 9451 3479 or at their office at Ferguson Street (off Warringah Rd), Forestville, NSW.

Further information on Landcare is available on the Web at http://www.landcare.nsw.gov.au . The Regional Landcare Facilitator for the Sydney Metropolitan area is currently Vanessa Keyzer.
