Management Strategy for Pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum)

Shenton Bushland has a widespread infestation of pelargonium. Although it is unusual to encounter large plants, small seedlings continue to emerge throughout the bushland (often from under the shelter of a balga), and require a constant watch.

Our strategy for controlling pelargonium is to pull out the plants whenever we encounter them. If the infestation is too large to attend to, we record its location, and return at another time.
