What do we do in the bushland ?
Do you ever wonder what we actually do in the bushland all year round, and how you may be able to contribute to our activities?
This newsletter contains a summarised calendar of our activities planned for this year.
Our activities follow the cycle of the seasons in the bushland:
- collecting seeds as they ripen over Summer
- removing weeds as soon as they begin emerging with the first rains of Autumn
- mapping the distribution and density of the weeds
- spraying weeds that we cannot control manually
- monitoring the effects of our activities
- evaluating our effectiveness at the end of the year

Next meeting
This will be held on Thursday 27th March at 7.30 pm at 117 Derby Road, Shenton Park.
This is our annual general meeting. In addition to appointing
people to help administer the group (Convenor, Secretary and Treasurer)
we are seeking people to help us with special projects:
(a) organising events such as our 10th anniversary celebrations
(b) liaising with schools to involve them more in bushland
appreciation
(c) co-ordinating volunteers - keeping in touch, organising
skills training and ensuring their association with our group is mutually
rewarding
(d) co-ordinating our public liaison - maintaining the
notice boards, producing guided walk pamphlets, and producing the newsletter
