| Biography
|
Aida
started with dancing (ballet) when 5 years old, dancing folk/traditional
slavic dance with a local group for 15 years. With Turkish ancestry,
Aida was familiar with the movement and music of bellydancing and
began taking lessons with Aida Zajim.
Introduced to bellydance by Ms Zajim while study Arabic and Farsi
language, she picked up the Oriental dance style very quickly and
grew to love it with a passion that lead her to Egypt to further study
the art.
The first teacher and performer of Oriental dance in Croatia, Aida's
dance school is growing steadily. Introduced to Egyptian style by
Keti Sharif, Aida now teaches the A-Z routines in her classes and
choreographies.
At present, her main aim is to introduce bellydance as a cultural
art through various arts schools and dance classes throughout Croatia
to a wider audience.
Aida's favourite dance styles are classical Egyptian and folkoric
dance. She loves the music of Om Kolthsoum and Abdel Halim Hafez.
She is currently studying colloquial Egyptian language to teach her
students the lyrics of Egyptian classics. |
