Something For Kate bass player, Stephanie Ashworth, has knocked back an offer to be Hole's bassist, instead opting to remain a member of the Australian band.

Log into  Sweetcherrie.com and check out all things Hole inspired. Sweetcherrie.com is now the official home of Courtney's very favourite Hole site, Credit In The Straight World. You can also sign up to the new Hole e-zine, Sugarcoated Cyanide, which is coming soon. Another new page that can be found there is Bitter Sweet Media, the new online Hole shop, featuring cds, videos, jewellery and more to buy. Hole Auctions has also relocated to Sweetcherrie.com so do yourself a favour and head over there.

In former band members news, Melissa Auf Der Maur's recent inclusion into the Smashing Pumpkins seems to be a bit of a waste, as the band have decided to call it a day at the end of the year once completing booked our dates. What will Melissa do now? We will keep you posted.

Still no official word on Hole's bass player.

Courtney, yesterday, spoke at the 'Million Mom March.' This was to support the enforcement of tighter gun controls. She spoke of her late husband, Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide over 6 years ago with a shotgun blast to the head.

A big thank you to the official Hole site, holemusic.com for linking this page.

New additions to Soft, Softer, Softest are the 'Songs About Courtney Love' section and I have updated the articles section so check it out.

The role of bass player for Hole still goes unconfirmed. I've heard two girls strongly rumoured for the position. Canadian bassist, Andrea Hector, of Amber Liquod seems to be the front runner. I heard on Triple J recently that Something For Kate bass player, Stephanie Ashworth, was approached by Eric after he saw the Australian band play in LA. If you want to check out more about Stephanie, head to the official Something For Kate website.

Courtney is currently in New York, filming her role in Julie Johnson. Sam has just finished the score for an indie documentary, entitled Bounce : Behind The Velvet Rope.

News is that Hole's version of It's All Over Now Baby Blue will appear on the soundtrack for the forthcoming soundtrack to third installment of The Crow series.

I also hear whispers that the recording of a new Hole album will be taking place later this year. So fingers crossed.

Courtney had a few films coming up. Next to be released will be Beat, in which she stars with Kiefer Sutherland. More info on Beat and her other films coming soon.

Melissa has unleashed a whole new wardrobe and look with her inclusion into the Smashing Pumpkins. Videos for Stand Inside Your Love and Everlasting Gaze have both been released featuring Melissa, looking rather different. Be sure to check it out. You will probably be amused.

Last update for now is an update on Soft, Softer, Softest. I have redesigned my layout. The articles section is now divided into years so you can select what time frame of articles you were after. I have added biographies on all members of Hole (past and present), a section on Courtney's movies, A Hole Message Board for you to have your say and my very own webring. So all you people out there with Hole sites, feel free to sign up for admission! I have many more sections in the pipelines so be sure to visit regularly. If you have written a review or would like to share any Hole-related experience, please drop me a line at gutless19@hotmail.com

After recently leaving the record company, Geffen are suing Hole. The word on the bass player situation is that after trying out about 30 people, the spot remains open.

11 December 1999

Courtney Love will appear on The Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday night, US time. This episode should air in Australia on either Thursday or Friday of this coming week.

News floating around town at the moment is that Hole have left Geffen and will sign with an indie record label.

4 December 1999

Melissa Auf Der Maur will be touring with the Smashing Pumpkins on their European tour, starting 7 January 2000. Since she has officially left Hole and there is an empty bassist position with the Pumpkins, it is expected she will join the band officially soon.

Soft, Softer, Softest is now up and running. Although, not looking very good by any means, we are in business. SSS is yet another Hole webpage. The thing that sets it apart from others is the Australian, and primarily West Australian, point of view it takes. This is evident mostly in the articles section.

For those Australians lucky enough to have Foxtel would today have seen the 1999 Glastonbury Festival. This went for 3 hours and had one or two songs from a host of acts. Songs by HOLE were Northern Star and Celebrity Skin.

Hole will release their next single, Be A Man, next week across the US. The song is from the soundtrack to the film, Any Given Sunday.
