Teens Learn to Sew

(12yrs – Teens)

5 lessons – 18th Oct – 15th Nov

MON – 4.00pm – 5.30pm (1.5 hrs)

$56.25 in full or $12.75 per lesson

A great age to develop an interest in fashion and sewing.  You will learn basic sewing techniques along with introductory pattern skills while completing a garment and adding your own creative touches.

Children Learn to Sew

(8 – 12yrs)

5 lessons – 20th Oct – 17th Nov

WED – 4.00pm – 5.30pm (1.5 hrs)

$56.25 in full or $12.75 per lesson

Sewing is a great way for children to have fun, express their creativeness and develop co-ordination.  They will begin by completing a variety of small projects, then lead to simple garment construction.

Sewing For Beginners

5 lessons  - 19th Oct – 16th Nov

TUE – 9.30am – 12.00noon (2.5hrs)

$100.00 in full or $22.50 per lesson

This course is an excellent introduction to the basics of sewing.  You will do sample work on stretch and non-stretch fabrics.  Then choose one of these fabric types to construct a simple garment.  The course covers – measuring and simple pattern adjusting, pattern placement and cutting, following pattern instructions and construction techniques.

Active wear Lycra

5 lessons – 19th Oct – 16th Nov

Tue – 12.30pm – 2.30pm (2hrs)

$80.00 in full or $18.00 per lesson

Make leotards, bike pants, crop tops or swimwear etc.  Learn about the different types of lycra and their uses, the special techniques for handling lycra including seaming techniques on machine or overlocker, applying elastic, and some finishing touches.  Also learn fitting techniques and some simple pattern adjustments.

Sewing Circles

WED – 9.30am – 11.30am (2 hrs)

Make a garment of your choice, or bring along garments you are having problems with.  Learn professional sewing and finishing tips and master your pet hates, eg. Zips and buttonholes.  A great opportunity to get some helpful hints on tricky alterations or mending jobs that you have been avoiding.

Soft Furnishing – Curtain Making

5 lessons – 20th Oct – 17th Nov

WED – 12.00noon – 2.30pm (2.5hrs)

$100.00 in full or $22.50 per lesson

This is a great opportunity to learn to make your own curtains and save $$$.  This course covers window measuring, calculating fabric quantities, pattern matching and many tricks of the trade for fast, easy construction and professional finishing.  Learn a variety of curtain heading methods such as rod pocket; pinch pleating and gathering along with some creative valance ideas and sewn-in and detachable lining methods.  You will make a series of samples that will become a great future reference.

The Perfect Pants

5 lessons – 21st Oct – 18th Nov

THUR –12noon – 2.30pm (2.5 hrs)

$100.00 in full or $22.50 per lesson

Do you have problems buying or making pants to fit?  In this course you will learn measuring, pattern adjustment and fitting techniques, which you will apply to a pattern.  You will then make a calico toile (trial pair) to fine-tune the fit before constructing your perfect pants.

Mastering Overlocking

4 lessons – 25th Oct – 15th Nov

MON – 12.30pm – 2.30pm (2hrs)

$64.00 in full or $18.00 per lesson

Learn threading the easy way, master tension control and stitch production.  Learn stitching techniques, differential feed uses, rolled hemming etc.  Use skills mastered to complete a simple stretch garment of your choice.  We have extended this course to include a little extra time for garment construction and to cover some decorative overlocking techniques.

 

Monday Evening Classes

Private Lessons

 

These lessons are an excellent way to learn exactly what you desire.

They are tailored to your personal requirements and can be booked as a one off or as a series of lessons, at any time scheduled lessons are not running.

At $30.00 an hour it is good value and if you come along with a friend you can share the cost.

 

 

Payment Procedure

¨                   Payment may be made for full course or per lesson on or before commencement of course.

¨                   A $10 deposit is required at time of booking to confirm placement.

¨                   Cancellation should be made at least one week prior to first lesson.

¨                   Deposit non-refundable after this time.

¨                   Missed lessons can be made up in sewing circles.

¨                   Payment to be made by cash or cheque – Credit card facilities now available – (minimum $20.00).
