KITTO’s from CALLINGTON & CALSTOCK District
This tree is provided to
family historians without prejudice. I have constructed most of my KITTO family
trees using the data I have available, and in a few cases it is estimated as
the best fit from available choices. In this tree, several of the links are yet
to be proved, so any help that you can give to confirm any line would be
appreciated by me and others searching in this family. More modern families
also need your inputs, because as I can link modern families to each other, and
thus it enables a focus on their common ancestry. The memories of one branch
may not be complete, but yet may fill in gaps of another branch. Only by a
concerted effort can we really define the true lineage. Help me to help you by
sharing what you have.

NOTES: Parents
actually listed as Matthias and Grace Kitto. Matthew had a sister named Grace
who was married after this birth. There is no record of a Matthias and Grace
getting married. Adams was Mary BOX's mothers's maiden name (William Adams).
William was also born just after the marriage of Matthew and Mary. From all of
this we assume that the "Grace" name was a mistake from the sister
and the recorder of the records just got them mixed up. - Patricia KITTO

NOTES: Parents
actually listed as Matthias and Grace Kitto. AND in the 1851 census, Matthew
and Mary are listed with 20 year old son John who was born in Callington. Since
they had been married before 20 years earlier, they must have been married when
he was born. Since he was born in Callington then it should have been in the
parish register. Since there is no other John Kitto listed as being born in
these year, we conclude that this is the "right" John Kitto and that
his parents are really Matthew and Mary, not Grace. - Patrica KITTO

Re
WH Kitto b 1861 I have not had time to trace him but my uncle Howard tells me
he has newspaper cutting saying WH went to Newton Abbot in Devonshire, England

who died at age 11 and two daughters. One daughter married a Mr Row who became
