This tree is provided to family historians without prejudice. I have constructed most of my family trees using the data I have available, and in a few cases it is estimated as the best fit from available choices. In this tree, several of the links are yet to be proved, so any help that you can give to confirm any line would be appreciated by me and others searching in this family. More modern families also need your inputs, because as I can link modern families to each other, and thus it enables a focus on their common ancestry. The memories of one branch may not be complete, but yet may fill in gaps of another branch. Only by a concerted effort can we really define the true lineage. Help me to help you by sharing what you have. Many additional details have been provided by other researchers and where possible I have included the contributor's email addresses within the file next to their families, however there are countless others also involved. I am willing to also add you in to your KITTO family. My thanks to you all.

His descendents still had it in 1901, occ: of Browda, Con, Eng.  (an early tree then states "45 Eliz 1603" and then NOTES: "This Richard KITTOW built the fine old Elizabethan mansion at Browda; the date and his initials may still be seen on the carved wainscoting of the hall .  Ancient pieces of plate, bearing his initials and the dates, are still preserved here. The house, which is most pleasantly situated, is well cared for by the present owner."

(1) Thomas KITTOW b. c1600s Con, Eng. signed the 1641 Protestation return in Linkinhorne, He was the only KITTO there in 1641.

A gap in these generations could be sorted out by referring to a series of wills available from the Cornwall Record Office, but which wills are a question. There are quite a few more from adjoining parishes.

                                                + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Mary's marriage portion was £ 200 and a moity of the mansion and grounds of Browda constituted her jointure. John KITTOW (c1670) appears to have died early leaving a young family with their mother to the care of his brother-in-law, Thomas CONGDON, who faithfully carried out the trust.  The latter married somewhat late in life Joane BUDGE, who predeceased him childless. He died in 1748, leaving the bulk of his property to John KITTOW's children.
