Philip McGivney was a widower.
Information from Shirley Connaghan: Ellen's second husband Phillip McGivney, a convict from Cavan Ireland, was transported in 1842 for 7 years for stealing a cow belonging to his sister. His wife Christina and daughter Margaret followed him to Tasmania. Christina died 22-8-1884. Phillip received his ticket of leave 20 March 1846 and his conditional pardon was approved 20 November 1847. He died in 1893.
In his Will, Philip left his properties to his grandson Philip Smith. He left a payment of 100 pounds to his daughter Margaret Pearce (in Melbourne) in 10 equal annual installments. He also left an annuity of 10 pounds per year to his wife Ellen for life provided that she remained unmarried. There was a further payment of 20 pounds to Father John McKornan of the Catholic Church at Longford, later changed in a codicil to to the same priest for his own use.
