WA Cleaning Industry Takes Current Insurance Issues Very Seriously

In its continuing efforts to ensure employers of Cleaners are fully informed about why the current workers compensation and public liability insurance cover crisis exists and how to ensure a they take steps to ensure they receive the most advantageous premiers the Master Cleaners Guild of WA, organised a seminar, in conjunction with Optima Risk Management —

The seminar was attended by over 80 managers and supervisors from both the private and public sectors. The speakers covered the following topics in a hands-on manner —
Diane Munroud, representing the Minister for Employment Protection —
Outlined Workcover WA’s role.

Daryl Cameron — Insurance Council of WA — Outlined how current premiums were set and future
possible trends.

Gianna Caminarano — Workcover WA — Outlined the Premium Rates Committee’s role.

Terry Woodward & Mary Lennox — Allianz Australia — Outlined how to put effect management
processes in place and manage claims when they arise.

Jane Taylor — Worksafe WA — Outlined the Worksafe Plan and its current review.

Roma Sharpe — FPBS ITC & David Wood - SE Metro TAFE outlined how nationally accredited
training helps raise employees’ awareness in OSH issues including theft own personal
responsibilities.

Debbie Ulerick — EBM ]Insurance Brokers lead the question time.
