Margaret Coxall

Known for her use of vivid colour, and contemporary feel for the landscape, many of her  works are in private and corporate collections throughout the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia.  She has had three solo exhibitions in the USA as well as many in Australia .  She  has always enjoyed exploring different techniques and subject matter to keep the creative spirit going.  Her colourful landscapes are highly textural, reflecting the nature of the country where she lives.

Her new series  “Portals” are gateways into another world where subject matter from different sources is drawn together . Colour,  texture  and multi imagery are used to produce works that are  evocative of place and time.  Drawing on photos, original texts, symbols, handwriting and painting techniques, these paintings almost have a life of their own.  Themes can include history, literature, landscape and even cookery , all subjects close to the artist’s heart.   Several of these images have been lodged with the Bridgeman Art Library, London.

Now located in Western Australia, She has received the Centenary Medal for services to community arts and development and is listed in Who’s Who  .

She operates her own studio from which she conducts workshops and private tuition as well as master classes. Incorporating inks, crayons, acrylics, collage and watercolours she produces exciting and vibrant images. Her workshops which have been conducted for the National Gallery, and for art groups throughout Australia, are known for their innovative and supportive approach.  She is a registered Golden Artist  Educator .

Margaret operates Art Innovations, which specialises in exhibitions of Margaret’s work, public art projects and runs Creative Edge workshops for corporate and social groups.

 She says

"I am fascinated by the mysterious and timeless qualities that are in the landscape around us. I try to show in my paintings the unseen forces of nature and the passage of time. Experimentation with new techniques continually gives me fresh ideas in ways to portray what I feel "
