Studio

My studio is located on the coast of Western Australia, just south of Perth. I have a great view of the Indian Ocean whilst I work and can take advantage of the cooling afternoon breezes known locally as the Fremantle Doctor.  Since I love to experiment with all different kinds of materials and artist toys as I call them, my studio really represents an adult playroom.

Quite often I will be working on more that one piece at a time so I need lots of space to stretch out.  Often I have a group of private students come for the afternoon and we have a mix of feedback on their work, trying out new techniques and revisiting the main keys to successful painting.  My approach is to help students find their own paths and adopt an individual approach to their work. I am lucky in that I possess a large library of books and reference materials that I have gathered in my frequent travels. Students are encouraged to use them to broaden their knowledge of the world of art.We also have a lot of laughs and try and support each other in our creative lives.

Sometimes artists will come for a private session when they are particularly stuck on a place in their work.   If you are interested in knowing more about private tuition or in small group work, please contact me at mcoxall@iinet.net.au
