Welcome to Holy Cross
We would love to welcome you into our Church Family. It is our belief that everyone is on a spiritual journey, a journey that involves questions, difficulties, highs and lows. We take our faith seriously but that doesn't mean we can't have some fun along the way!
What to expect on your first visit
We have two services on most Sundays. At both services we will sing songs which we call worship. It's a time to connect with God in a relevant way. If you don't feel comfortable joining in, then please don't! We realise that everyone is at different points in their spiritual journey, and you are welcome here, no matter where you are at with God.
At both services we hear relevant talks on life, family, relationships, spiritual issues and purpose. You'll hear stories and be offered spiritual insights into why Jesus is so relevant in our world today.
We will also pray. Prayers are led from the front and again, if you don't feel comfortable joining in, then don't!
We will take up an offering, which is when people in the church give money to resource our work in the community and church. There is no obligation for you to give - you are our guest!
We also share communion at both services. You are welcome to come forward to the alter rail and receive a blessing from the minister or if you are a communicant member of a mainstream Christian church receive commuion.
At our 8.00am service our focus is more traditional and our 9.30am service is more contemporary which some might consider better suite new families but the choice is yours.
Children are really important to us and during term time at our 9.30am service stay in the church until about 9.50, when they are led by trained and energetic leaders to Sunday Club and join us again as we prepare to share communion. You are welcome to stay with them for the first week or so, or just check it out for yourself first.

The important thing is that you know you don't have to go through this alone. To have a private and confidential chat with our Rector or one of our care team, contact our church office and we will be sure to put you in touch with the right person.
Learn more about Jesus
Life is a journey. There are times in our lives that we go through periods when we question our existence and our purpose. If you feel you'd like to explore more about the Christian faith and why Christians believe that Jesus is the hope of the world then we'd love to hear from you. Holy Cross runs several courses throughout the year that may be helpful to you.To find out more about Jesus online visit www.rejesus.co.uk
But because Christianity is about relationship and community, the best way to find out about faith and prayer, to raise questions and to get help, is to meet some Christians. The Anglican Church is just one of the Christian churches in this country. We seek to work alongside other Christian churches and denominations as closely as we can.
You can also learn more about God as he is in Jesus by reading the Bible - why not start with the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament?
The Anglcan Church is made up of communities of Christians in every corner of the land.
Most of these communities can be found via the parish church buildings in every city and town and in almost every village.
Many Anglicans now meet in and through smaller groups, relating to networks of people in our fast-changing society. Or they seek to serve particular groups of people and to find their Christian identity alongside them.
Other Anglicans are committed to traditional religious communities, whether as monks and nuns or as people associated with those communities.
There are also online communities of Christians who use the resources of the web to make contact.
