From our Home Groups...
Back in the last century, well, in 1995-96, a group was formed under leadership of Derek and Doris Martin, to discuss, better understand and to-draw conclusions to the writings that, so long ago, formed the Old and New Testament of the Bible as we know it.
From time to time, group numbers have fluctuated. Some members have died, others have left for greater pastures, but most have continued to attend; until now the eleven 'regulars' are considered to be permanent members. Seldom do we completely agree. Differing explanations may be influenced by differing backgrounds and earlier-in-life associations. But there is significant evidence that discussion brings forth greater meaningful understanding.
The development of an introductory prayer each Thursday morning within the group gives ample opportunity for each member in turn to personally offer thanks and present prayerful petitions to Jesus Christ.

AN INVITATION FROM ONE OF OUR FOUR HOMEGROUPS
Roger Herft, our Archbishop, has indicated his theology for the Anglican Church. He believes that we have much to learn from the Scriptures and encourages us to form groups to read and discuss the Bible. One such group meets at 1 Guy Place every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 9.30 am, and for 1hr we follow the lessons provided for us by Derek Martin for which we are eternally grateful. We mix our learnings with much discussion and one thing we have learnt is that 'nothing has changed'
With group discussion we find that there are so many ways to look at the subject matter. Of course, our morning cuppa at 10.00 am, helps the friendly atmosphere.
Unfortunately over the years through general attrition our group is shrinking.
We invite you to come and enjoy the company of Margaret and Gene, May, Pam, Norma and Pat and learn a little more about the greatest book of all time - The Bible.
