2005 WORSHIP CENTRE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT NEWS


The long planned development of our Holy Cross site has now commenced. It involves:
- The establishment of a new Worship Centre (church).
- The reverting of our existing church to a hall. It was originally built as a church hall and dedicated as such on December 18, 1966. On September 17, 1978 it was dedicated as a church following refurbishment.
- The demolition of our current "hall" which was transported from Peppermint Grove (All Saints) and dedicated as Church of the Holy Cross on March 25, 1956.
- Refurbishment of tennis court.

The following are the currently estimated dates of activities:
Footings - done
Walls in place - 26-28 Sept
Fill and slab - 28-30 Sept
Sanctuary demolition of current church - 26-30 Sept
Roof - 10-14 Oct
Current Hall (original church) demolition - 28-30 Sept
New kitchen installed - by 30 Nov
All completed - by Christmas
