Reaching out into the community with Christ.
" Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints. " Ephesians 6:18
Throughout the week, Holy Cross is a busy place. Here are just some of the groups that meet here.

HOLY CROSS QUILTERS
There are now 2 groups of Quilters. One group meets on Tuesday mornings and the other on Thursday mornings - both from 9 am till noon. The Tuesday group would welcome more members. Not necessarily just quilters; Embroidery, crochet and knitting are skills being used by this group.
The Thursday group has been very productive of late with a quilt destined for a raffle at Murdoch Hospice later in the year.
Pictured during the production which involved 10 people sewing and putting together as the pattern emerged.
The other important project was the making of the Raffle quilts for our own raffle here at Holy Cross. This has become a tradition over the last 5 years with the making of a raffle quilt and then drawing it in conjunction with a quilt exhibition and the Annual November Fete (this year November 8th). This year there is a first prize queen size quilt and a smaller quilt suitable for children.
In the past the quilt exhibition has only been open for the time of the fete and then to decorate the Church for services on the Sunday morning. This year it is planned to have an official opening of the exhibition on the previous Thursday evening 6th November at 5.30pm until 8pm. It is proposed sell tickets for this opening at $10 with wine and canapés served as well.
Over the past two weeks new stands have been built for displaying the quilts so our show should be better than ever. Thank you for this to Norman Lovelock and Neil Lewis- there has been much scrounging of roadside verges for the timber! However the results look very professional.
We look forward to the support of parishioners in the selling of tickets for the raffle and the exhibition opening.

The Fete and Quilt Exhibition have been and gone but a big THANK YOU to all the parishioners and friends who sold tickets to make the Raffle the success it has been. The total raised was just over $3000. An amazing result.
Also the Launch evening for the Quilt Exhibition was a wonderful success. About 60 people gathered to hear our Guest speaker, Maryliss Green-Armitage give a brief resume of the history of quilting and then to open our Exhibition.
This year we were able to hang and show 72 quilts. A real feast of colour and creativity.
Thank you to all our supporters in the Parish and friends of the Parish who agreed to loan their quilts.
Mass on Sunday morning after the Fete was very special as so many beautiful quilts surrounded us.
The Thursday group recently had a very pleasant retreat at Avalon a few kilometres from Toodyay. Sewing machines were set up in the conference room and in between wonderful meals, lots of talking and laughing a great deal of sewing was done. Several quilts were completed and new projects were begun.
The Tuesday group has people with many different craft skills, in particular embroidery, as was displayed at the Exhibition opening. This group is still open for new members.
