This is a list of addresses of regional authorities for you to register your proposed business venture before you apply for a visa. Register in the State where you plan to set up business.

All business visa classes are required to register. If you also want to apply for sponsorship, these same regional agencies will discuss with you the local situation and the possibilities of your success in the region. If your proposals sounds economically viable, they may be willing to sponsor your visa, and will give you a Form 950 - Notice of Possible Sponsorship.

This is only a first step for both sides to become better aware of the possibilities. If the authorities are willing to sponsor you, at a later stage they will give you Form 949 - Notice of Formal Sponsorship which you should include with your visa applications. Sponsorship is a process of investigation and negotiation - and you will still have to fulfil the other visa requirements of health, character, language abilities and age.

You can apply for sponsorship from outside Australia, or while you are in Australia on an exploratory trip. Contact one of the addresses below in an area where you want to set up business, or you may negotiate with several agencies in different areas of Australia that look possible.
