This section is for Australian citizens or legal residents to sponsor their parents for migration. If you have children living in Australia, you may be able to reunite your family and see your grandchildren growing up. To enter as parents, you must have at least half your family of living children resident in Australia. For example, if there are five children in your family, at least three must already live in Australia. If you have four children, then it is all right if two are in Australia, and two overseas. Or you may have most of your children living in Australia, more than in any other single country. This is called having your 'balance of family' living in Australia. 

If you apply for a permanent visa as a parent, it will cost you AUD$1055 in non-refundable application charges. There is also much work in collecting your documents, getting them photocopied and certified as true copies of the originals. Your package of application forms costs another AUD$10. This will all be lost if your application fails.
